All participants will gather to discuss modalities and strategies for action. In particular: • there will be discussed the state of the art in Carnival research in each of the institutions involved • there will be selected the locations in which to carry out fieldwork in the forthcoming 2008 Carnival season. These will have to be preferably rural (rather than urban) in character, and will have to display at least some measure of relevance to the traditional repertoire of actions and figures (i. e. the pageant of monstrous figures, bearded and/or blackened, girdled with cowbells; the representation of ploughing; The Bear-chase; the mock nuptial cortege; etc.). A precise protocol of action will be devised for research on location. Also, the forum will design and discuss: • the guidelines for www.carnivalkingofeurope.it website • the modalities of the itinerant CKE exhibition • the educational activities • the possible nature of the side events |
